Course Description
Project Management Basics/Fundamentals is BMC’s online/onsite course for 1, 2, 3 or 4 days to build your project management skills and competencies and prepare for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification exam. This course has been developed and created by the CEO BMC, Dr. Azhar Khan who is a (PMP)® certification holder. It is based on the PMBOK®Guide – Sixth and Seventh Editions.
The proposed training course would enable participants to use PMI® (Project Management Institute) system of managing projects from start to completion. For this purpose, PMBOK® 7th Edition (Project Management Body of Knowledge), which is the PMI’s international standard for managing projects (list price US $ 99/copy) will be provided to each participant. The proposed training would also introduce participants to Agile basics, popular Agile methodologies and key Agile tools and techniques. The course includes everything you need to test your understanding of project management knowledge, tools and techniques and also prepares you for the (CAPM)® certification examination. It will also cover the 23 contact hours required to apply for the (CAPM)®certification.
Course Objectives:
- To provide a framework for structuring the Project Management Body of Knowledge according to the PMBOK® 7th edition with a view to understand basic concepts of project management;
- To learn basic tools, techniques, best practices, methodologies, project life cycle and processes of project management;
- To learn scheduling and resource allocation techniques with PERT/CPM and Earned Value;
- To learn and apply five process groups, ten knowledge areas and 49 processes to establish roadmap for project implementation from start to completion;
· To learn managerial and leadership techniques to transform into effective managers.
· To prepare for the CAPM® certification exam with a three-hour final practice exam, developed and validated by BMC’s experts who are PMP®certified.
